Comparison
DressApp vs Antla
Every fact below re-checked against public sources on July 26, 2026.
Choose DressApp if your returns are driven by size and fit; choose Antla if you want the more established app and a try-on with no measurements step. Both need only one shopper photo. Antla returns a try-on image from it. DressApp also takes body measurements, builds a reusable digital model, and shows every product on that model front and back, with a recommended size and a fit description for each size.
Antla is the safer buy on track record: it has been on the Shopify App Store since August 2024 with 48 reviews, and DressApp's listing went live in May 2026 with none. DressApp is the only one of the two with a no-monthly-fee plan, a JavaScript SDK and a REST API.
Head to head
Checkable facts only. Anything marked 'not documented' means we could not find it on their public pages - it is not a claim that the feature is missing.
| DressApp | Antla | |
|---|---|---|
| What the shopper provides | One photo plus body measurements | A photo |
| Reusable shopper model | Yes - the shopper builds one digital model and reuses it on every product | Not documented on their public pages |

| Renders a specific size | Yes - the shopper can try on a specific size and see how that size drapes on their own model, not one generic render | Not documented. The try-on is generated from a photo without body measurements, so no size-specific render is described on their public pages |

The difference that actually matters
Both apps put a picture of your garment on a picture of your shopper. The divergence is what happens after that.
Antla's flow is optimised for speed: a shopper taps try on, supplies a photo, and gets an image back. Nothing persists between products, so the second product means starting again, and nothing in that flow knows the shopper's measurements - which means it cannot tell them which size to order.
That has a consequence beyond the missing recommendation. If the system does not know your measurements, the image it returns cannot be tied to a size either. It is one render of the garment on you - not the M, not the L. DressApp renders the size: the shopper picks a size and sees how that size sits, where it drapes and where it pulls, across multiple poses and from the back.
DressApp takes the same single photo and adds one step - measurements - and gets two things back for it. The model is built once and reused across your whole catalogue, so even that step is paid a single time. And because the measurements exist, DressApp can answer the question that actually causes the return: not "does this look good on me" but "which size do I order". Each try-on carries a recommended size and a fit description per size.
That trade is the whole decision, and it is a narrower trade than it first looks: the photo cost is identical, so what you are weighing is one measurements step against a size answer. If your returns are mostly "didn't suit me", that step buys you little and Antla's lower friction is worth more. If your returns are mostly "wrong size" - the majority of apparel returns, per Coresight Research - then a try-on that cannot recommend a size is solving the adjacent problem.
Where Antla is stronger
If one of these is your deciding factor, Antla is the better buy and you should not let us talk you out of it.
- A far longer track record: on the Shopify App Store since August 2024 with 48 reviews, against DressApp's zero.
- Cheapest entry subscription is $19.99/mo versus DressApp's $24.99/mo.
- More marketing-stack integrations out of the box - Klaviyo, Attentive, Postscript, Dondy and Segments.
- No measurements step at all. Both apps need only one photo, but Antla is done at that point, where DressApp also asks for body measurements before the first try-on.
Where DressApp is weaker
The things we would want to know if we were the one buying.
- DressApp's Shopify listing went live on May 29, 2026 and has no reviews yet. Antla and GenLook both have a public track record; DressApp does not. If social proof is what you are buying on, they win today.
- DressApp asks for body measurements on top of the photo. Like the others it needs only one photo, but the measurements step is still one more thing to ask of a first-time visitor - it is the price of being able to recommend a size.
- Fewer marketing-stack integrations than Antla.
- DressApp has no published first-party return-rate data from live merchants yet. Anyone quoting you a return-reduction number for any of these apps, including us, is quoting an industry study rather than your store.
Which one to pick
Pick DressApp if
Fit is your returns problem. You want the shopper to try on a specific size and see how that size drapes on a model built from their own measurements, across multiple poses and from the back as well as the front, with a recommended size and a fit description per size - and you want the option to pay nothing until DressApp is credited with a sale.
Pick Antla if
You want the safest, most-reviewed option on Shopify today, you are already deep in Klaviyo, Attentive or Postscript, and a try-on with no measurements step is the outcome you want rather than a sizing answer.
Frequently asked questions
- What is the main difference between DressApp and Antla?
- Both need only one shopper photo. Antla returns a try-on image from it, not tied to any particular size. DressApp also takes body measurements, builds a reusable digital model, and renders a specific size on it - pick M or L and see how that size drapes - across multiple poses and from the back, with a recommended size and a fit description per size. Antla is the more established app; DressApp is the one built around sizing.
- Which is cheaper, DressApp or Antla?
- Antla's entry plan is cheaper at $19.99/month for 100 try-ons versus DressApp's Starter at $24.99/month for 100. At higher volume Antla's Unlimited Fashion plan is $199.99/month for 2,000 try-ons and DressApp's Scale plan is $349.99/month for 1,500. DressApp also offers a Pay Per Sale plan with no monthly fee, where you pay 5% only on sales attributed to DressApp - Antla has no free or commission-based plan.
- Does Antla recommend a size to the shopper?
- Antla's Shopify listing describes integration with size charts and sizing tools, but as of July 26, 2026 its public pages do not document a measurement-based size recommendation. DressApp recommends a best size from the shopper's measurements and shows a fit description for every size.
- Does Antla work outside Shopify?
- No. Antla is a Shopify app and positions itself for Shopify Plus. DressApp ships as a Shopify app plus a JavaScript SDK for any storefront and a REST API, which is included on the Pro plan and above.
- Is Antla more proven than DressApp?
- Yes, on public track record. Antla has been on the Shopify App Store since August 6, 2024 with 48 reviews at a 5.0 rating. DressApp's listing went live on May 29, 2026 and has no reviews yet. If review count is your deciding factor, Antla wins today.
- How should I test both?
- Install both on a small set of products, use your own photo and measurements as a shopper would, and judge four things yourself rather than taking any vendor's word for it: whether the rendered garment is recognisably yours down to prints and hardware, whether it drapes like the real fabric, whether the size guidance matches what you know about your own fit, and how many shoppers finish the flow. Render quality is the one thing you can assess in ten minutes on both demo stores, so assess it. Antla's 7-day trial and DressApp's 14-day trial both cover that.

The DressApp demo store runs the same widget a shopper would use. Build a model, try a product, and judge the render and the size guidance yourself - then do the same on Antla's demo and compare like for like. Pay Per Sale costs nothing until DressApp is credited with a sale.
